Overdraft Privilege

Overdraft Privilege: Stay Protected

Checks, check cards and ATM cards provide easy access to your funds to make withdrawals, purchases and payments. You now control whether or not you want to continue overdraft privilege coverage for everyday check card transactions.

What is covered?

If you are enrolled in overdraft privilege, we authorize and pay up to $800(personal)/$1,500(business) in overdrafts for checks, automatic bill payments and everyday transactions that use your checking account number.

Is overdraft privilege automatic?

If a transaction is not authorized for overdraft protection, the transaction will be declined.

What fees will be charged?

We assess a fee of $34 each time we pay an overdraft. We limit the total fees we charge you for overdrawing your account to 5 per day.

Be Protected With Overdraft Services

Overdraft Privilege, Ready Reserve and Dynamic Transfer are available for all everyday account relationships.

Overdraft Privilege

Overdraft privilege is a discretionary courtesy that is extended to bank clients in good standing.

Ready Reserve

If you overdraw your account, funds are transferred from your line of credit to your checking account. You will be notified, and you have the opportunity to pay back your ready reserve account at any time.

Dynamic Transfer

If your account is overdrawn, dynamic transfer uses available funds from another account that you have authorized to cover the overdraft on your checking account. Mountain Valley Community Bank makes the transfer automatically on your behalf and saves you the inconvenience and embarrassment of expensive overdraft and bounced-check fees.

Checks and debits presented for payment in excess of the available balances of the Ready Reserve, Dynamic Transfer accounts or the Overdraft Privilege limit will be returned.
